Dr. Daniel Purdy is the founder, owner, and board-eligible pediatric dentist at Purdy Pediatric Dentistry in Bakersfield. With over 30 years of experience and a passion for connecting with each of his patients and their parents, Dr. Purdy loves that he’s been able to treat generations of families throughout his career. He also values building collaborative relationships between him and his team, as well as with parents, to make sure every child receives the best quality of care. Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Purdy grew up in his dad’s pediatric dental office, regularly helping out the team by working as their “assistant,” and he loved it. It was only natural that Dr. Purdy decided to pursue his dental degree after college and become a pediatric dentist!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Purdy completed his undergraduate degree at the University of New Hampshire and attended dental school at the University of Louisville. Following earning his dental degree, he then went on to complete his Pediatric Residency at UCLA, where he gained specialized knowledge and training on treating and maintaining growing smiles.
After his pediatric residency, he continued his education by earning his oral conscious sedation permit. Over his 25+ years of practicing, he has also completed hundreds of hours of continuing education credits, and he remains an active member of the following professional organizations:





Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Originally from Santa Maria, Dr. Purdy and his wife, Meg, started dating in high school and have been together for over 35 years. They have two daughters, Elizabeth and Stella, and two dogs, Oreo and Snickers. Outside of the office, you can find Dr. Purdy spending time with his family, reading, fishing, hiking, and exercising. An interesting fact about Dr. Purdy is that he played division 1 basketball in college!
